New toys :)

Hello everyone! (Ha... I say that like lots of people read this or something... psh) 

Today.... I made..... SOMETHING. I don't really know what to call it.. haha But I am doing a photo session for a family with 5 little boys tonight and well, I think they might possibly enjoy this!  Check it out!

See, I really don't know what to call it... haha But I sure am excited to let the boys name it tonight! 

I made it in about 3 minutes with:

1. My mom's old scruchie (shh don't tell her. She is out of town)

2. Two old buttons I found on our button jar (Perfect creeper eyes. I know)

3. A long piece of yarn.

4. Three safety pins.

And TA-DAAA!

Hymnals:)

I feel like I always start my posts with "So.... its been a while.." And do you know what that means?  There is WAY too much time between each of my blog posts... seriously like months! 

I've been crafting a LOT lately. I love love love it... 

The reason I decided to post right now is because I have decided to fast from facebook for a week. And since I can't upload photos to facebook to show you the super cool and cute thing I just made I just HAD to show you somehow! Plus... I can be sneaky and still share this post on facebook without actually getting onto facebook ;) shhhhh.. don't tell!

I have been obsessed with using old hymnals for art projects lately... and today I decided to try something new that I had seen somewhere. 

Yeyyyy! Little bird ornaments! I am still going to add some glitter buuuut at the moment I don't have any..

Luke told me to sell these so I think I'm going to tell him that each time he looks at them he owes me $5. Brilliant right? Somehow I don't think he'll go with it.. :P

We decorated frames at the Jr High bible study I led this summer. :)

I got this frame at a thrift store for like $1! It was just plain untreated wood so I fixed it up. And by fixed it up I mean made it look old. :)

2 Yards of Fabric

A few weekends ago I was home alone and didn't have much to do. So while at walmart I picked up two yards of fabric that I liked (and it was only $3!). Once I got home I dug through my dresser for an old tank top I don't wear much and TA-DA! A few hours later I had a new dress. Oh, you didn't know I was a profession seamstress did you?? Yeah... me either. I'm not at all. haha But I love being able to wear/use things that I make myself! Especially if it is out of old things I don't use anymore! 

Magnolia and the Mallard

Hello! My oh my, has it been a long time since I've blogged or WHAT!?  Well I have some things piled up to blog that I will blog throughout the next couple of weeks.  It's just a matter of whether I get to it or not.... I feel like I have been reading non-stop the last two weeks since school started! So much HW to read and so little time. It's it's just from ONE CLASS! How do people do it? Really.... I don't understand! Maybe they don't... 

Anyway... Magnolia the kitty finds the oddest places to take naps and when I see something that might remotely make a good picture I go for it... and I usually just have my phone with me (like for this one) but I can't make myself NOT take pictures. :) I guess that is a good thing though since I'm a photographer, huh? 

July and a hot date...

It's July and it's hot. Imagine that!!! Crazy... right? This time of year.. no matter what kind of date you go on it's a hot one! I don't know if that's good or bad.. Maybe both!:P

Although this photo has nothing to do with the very random comment above' since I took it yesterday I am posting it here.

Melissa & Ryan asked me to take their engagement  pictures at the Powell Gardens for them which is where they were engaged. It is so beautiful there! Oh my goodness.... It had been raining and raining and raining for multiple days before hand but the skies cleared and we had a beautiful day! Although it was hot (which caused lots of sweat haha) and super sunny (which causes lost of harsh shadows when you don't stay in the shade) it was a great day! I hope you enjoy these two little sneaky peekys!

After the storm...

It rained... HARD yesterday! As soon as all of the rain was done and gone and the sky was clearing and the sun starting to set I went to my room (left a whole lot of muddy tracks on my carpet) and grabbed my camera.  I had never really done a lot of water droplet pictures so that is what I focused on. I went straight to a pot of chives, the rosebush, and clematis vine and  this is what I got.

A Can of Corn and a Candle..

So.. the other night I was reading a crafty blog with a whole bunch of AWESOME things I wanted to make! There are 10 things that I took note of that I wanted to try. So far I have accomplished 3! Here is one of them.. Check it outttttttttttt... I only sliced up my thumb a little bit. :P Totally worth it. haha

Dandelions in May

I made Sarah model again for me today as I tried to get a picture of the seeds blowing off of a dandelion as she blew on it. I got distracted with being silly and silhouettes so... I'll having to try again some other time but for NOW this is what we got. :)

Just an old window frame..

So last year I found an old 8 paned window frame and decided to put it on my wall! But... it just sat.... and sat.... and sat on my front porch all summer and fall and was eventually put away in the cellar until this other day (a year later) I got it back out and actually started working on it! I painted it last night and had to caulk a few of the glass panes back in. I was up and covered in caulk until 1 O'clock doing that last night. haha This is what it looked like when I pulled it out of the cellar!

And this is what it looks like now! 

Although.... it is still missing a sheet of paper. But I will fix that very soon. Okay, I'm done sharing about things you don't care about. :) 

How about I share with you about my friend, Abby, who is visiting me tonight from her home in Illinois! I met her on my trip to Guatemala last summer.  We were bus buddies :) Everyone asked if we were twins or sisters... but we really don't look alike.. at all.. except that we are the same height and size! 

After this week we will have lots more pictures with each other :)

Country Drive :)

So today I was up at six to help Jessi with breakfast at the camp. I took a nap at 10 and woke up at noon. BUT I guess after my nap I woke up on the wrong side of the bed.... Because I wasn't in the best of moods. Haha So I went for a little drive with my camera and ipod. I may have almost been run over... But... I wasn't so it's all good. No worries everyone! 

Keeping it interesting

Heyooooooooooo! Okay, so Rachel and I went out and took some pictures tonight. :) First we had dinner at Chick-fil-a and they were giving balloons to the kids.... so we asked for some too!!! As we got out of the car at our photo shoot destination I accidentally let go of Rachel's balloon.... it was freed into the sky to live life on its own... until it pops. I'm sure it will be an amazing life. 


Anyway Here are some of the pictures of Rachel! :) This has inspired me to get more creative when I do photo shoots for people. I don't want to be just another boring photographer... I want to be different. Out there. Ya know.. so when people look it my pictures they will look at it... and then look at it again! And that they will make people smile and laugh.. maybe even cry. 

We like to keep it interesting.. :)

Mud... mud mud mud.

Hi. Today... I went outside with Tucker (Yes, I named my camera Tucker) to take some pictures and realized that everything is brown. Brown brown brown. So I took pictures of mud. The muddy road, my muddy boots, muddy pebbles, mud puddles, the un-muddy sky, yeah... Umm.. Oh, TWO cars drove by while I was outside. WATCH OUT! Rush hour in Rushville! Crazy... Anyway.. 

I have always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon. Okay okay.. it's not a canyon at all but this.... is as close as it gets for now.

Yes... I splashed in a mud puddle like a child. :)
